People who say that North America and western culture doesn’t have a rape culture ignore these factors; it may not look like eastern rape culture, but it’s still rape culture; because the victims are dismissed, silenced and further victimized, and perpetrators protected and enabled. And that is abhorrent no matter how you look at it. And if certain people don’t find that abhorrent; I question their morality, empathy, and ethics.
